Jen Ledger drummer for Skillet

I am a Christian rock drummer and love playing!  If you have never heard of the Christian band Skillet, then you should seriously check them out.  They are rockin’!  I had the opportunity to open for them in 2001 in Huntsville, Alabama and got to spend the afternoon with them.  What a great bunch of guys and gals.  They are the real deal.  Jen was not playing for them at the time, but the girl drummer they had at the time was awesome too.  Jen Ledger, the drummer for them now is one smooth drummer.  It is so great that there are many girls that are starting to play and getting their due.  I am so proud of that!!  I imagine that most of these girl drummers started out with drum sets like you see on this site. TKO Pink Drum Set

For the past number of years I have helped many people at work find drum sets for their children and many of them have been the TKO brand.  They were simple to setup and put together.  They were of quality material and once you get them tuned, they sound pretty good.  If you need help tuning them, CLICK HERE.  Dave Weckhl in this video is one of the best drummers in the world hopefully you will learn some very positive tips on tuning which is one of the most important aspects of drumming.

My experience with a TKO drums:

Back in 1999, I had sold my own drums a number of years earlier and was going to get back into playing with a Christian Rock band.  Needed a drum set, I found a guy that had one of these TKO drum sets and bought it from him.  I put some good Evans drumheads on them and bought some Sabian cymbals.  I used this drum kit for about 2 years until I bought my Pearl drum set.  This drum set held up on the road and in the trailer…that is saying something.

The Good:

  • Full Pink Drum Set
  • Double Braced hardware for these pink drums
  • Includes Cymbals, Drum Throne and Sticks
  • Easy Setup

The Bad:

  • Cymbals are good for learning but will need new ones if playing with a band

  • Drumheads are not the best

You will enjoy this new pink drum set and will be able to learn to play that will allow you a talent that you can use for the rest of your life.  I am 51 and still play all the time.

Things I like and don’t like about this pink drum set for girls:

Pros:

  • full size pink drum set
  • double braced hi-hat stand
  • high gloss finish
  • fast delivery

Cons:

  • Cymbals are not the best – CLICK HERE to look at purchasing some better cymbals … these are some I use.  Most of the starter drum sets have cymbals that are not great quality.  This pink drum set is no exception
  • Bass drum pedal is not the best either.  This is pretty much standard on all starter drum sets.  If you want a GREAT pedal…here is the one I use.  Wow, is it awesome!

I have had the drum set for about 3 years and have been taking lessons for about 2 years all together. It was great in the beginning but about 6 months ago the cymbals started to bend and the heads have dents all in them. So If you are looking for a long term set I think you should probably get new heads and cymbals.

How about a 5 piece pink drum set for your daughter or grand daughter.  Then you need to check out this awesome pink drum set from Gammon.  If your daughter or grand daughter is from the ages of 2 to 7, this would be a perfect drum set.  It has a high gloss finish with metal rims.

Your little drummer can begin learning with this drum set and at some point you can purchase them some better drum heads to make them sound a whole lot better.  It has been my experience that most all manufacturers place very inexpensive drum heads on these starter kits.  The good news is that you can purchase these drum heads for not much money.  You can check some that I use HERE.  I can say that for a brand new drummer, this drum set will be just right for them and provide lot’s of enjoyment.  This set is a full set to a young child and not a regular full size which in my opinion is too large for children over 8.  I feel that they would probably get frustrated using a large full size drum set.

As you can see from the Amazon Reviews, this drum set is loved by parents with easy assembly.  Can you imagine your daughter or grandaughter waking up to this pink drum set sitting in their bedroom or living room.  You won’t be dissappointed.
